Tried to lose weight and failed again, again and again?
According to Livestrong.com, while at least 45 million people are on some diet, 68% of adults age twenty and older are still overweight or obese – one contributing factor to this discrepancy is rebound dieting, where weight is regained once whatever current diet is being used is over.
“Diets” are sold to make money, not for long-lasting results
Think about it. If a weight loss company sold you a diet, and that diet allowed you to safely burn fat and excess body weight, become slim, trim and sexy, and healthier than ever before, you would only need to buy that diet plan one time. They would lose a lifetime customer.
Instead, they sell you drastic, restrictive and in many cases, unsafe weight loss plans that work great in the short-term but are absolutely unsustainable, so they can sell you their products over and over again.
In 2016, $66 billion was spent by 97 million people in the United States with the express goal of losing weight. That works out to a staggering $179 million spent to lose weight each day. And that is just in the United States.
But, why do we continually fall for fad diets, gimmicks and drastic unsafe weight loss measures?
The answer is…desperation and the desire for fast fixes
“People get so focused on weight loss they are willing to do unproven and potentially dangerous things that can backfire and cause serious health problems,” says Michelle May, MD, who teaches mindful eating.
The truth is, diets don’t work. The whole “diet mindset” does not work either.
To safely lose weight and keep it off, you have to understand how to create a healthy relationship with nutrition and eating and…
- Make profound dietary habit changes
- Stop dieting and start living a healthy lifestyle
- Make a plan that fits your unique lifestyle, abilities and inclinations (no diet you have tried in the past has taken this into consideration)
What you need is an approach to safe and smart nutrition and eating which takes into account what your body needs, and what you should not be eating, while also considering what is “doable” for you in your unique situation.
When you know how to cater eating and lifestyle decisions to perfectly fit the unique individual that is you, success is virtually guaranteed. You can create an approach to nutrition which is sustainable over the long-term, and which gradually, safely but consistently burns body fat and improves your health at the same time.
Instead of trying to adopt physical fitness and eating habits, which you know you are not going to stick with, you build a program that makes sense for “you.”
I have gone through all that dieting myself. I tried everything from Paleo to Slow Carb. And I lost weight – up to 25 pounds sometimes. But I never was able to stick to the diet rules for more than 4 to 6 weeks at a maximum. And whenever I stopped, I put the weight that I had lost back on … and more.
It took me years to uncover the secrets of effective and above all sustainable weight loss.
- · There is no such thing like a “one-fits-all” diet.
- · If you want to successfully lose weight, your weight loss plan has to fit your lifestyle.
- · There are no miracle pills or quick fixes.
- · Weight loss does not have to be hard, if you know how to do it.
- · A healthy lifestyle will change your life forever
So stop using unsafe, drastic measures that lead to nowhere. Stop the never ending cycle of yo-yo dieting that never brings lasting results. Avoid the common diet pitfalls and finally lose weight and keep it off by safe and smart diet choices.
Now I realize that right now after reading through this post you may be thinking … well, she told me quite a bit but I need the whole concept from start to finish.
